THE MINNEAPOLIS MILLERS MEET THE SAINT PAUL SAINTS
FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE TWINS FORMED AT THE
NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM(s) OF MINNESOTA
SAINT PAUL SAINTS GAME
Monday, May 23, 2011
Willie Mays? Ted Williams? In the Saint Paul Saints’ Midway Stadium parking lot?
Yup. You can tailgate with ballplayers in the uniforms of some of the most famous Minneapolis Millers stars. Who knew?!? But that, from the Minnesota Historical Society, is just one surprise.
Come early to see the old-time 1860s base ball Washington County Historical Society St. Croix’s take on the Blue Earth Historical County Society Baltics. (See and download three photos at www.MuseumsOfMN.com/saints-promo-photos.html.) The Works museum has science projects for kids. You’ll get a chance to win free admission to Minnesota’s premier history museums – and front & center seats for a future Saints game! Watch demonstrations. And much more.
Museums Of Minnesota (MOM), a non-profit project devoted to the state’s many fine public institutions, is organizing the event. Chuck Strinz, MOM’s founder and director of the public television series now in pre-production (in broadcast partnership with Twin Cities Public Television’s statewide Minnesota Channel), will be on hand to answer questions and pass out Minnesota promotional material from many of the over 170 museums listed on MOM’s website.
The old-time base ball (yes, they put a space between the words back then) action is at 6:45 PM, but the fun starts much sooner! For more information, or to arrange an interview with Strinz, contact Jeff Schneider at 651-433-5356 or email leteam@frontiernet.net.
