Description:
Ed's Museum is housed in a building built in 1876 by John Mitchell (as a saloon), contains Ed Krieger’s lifelong collections. Ed was something of a historian, and saved many items from his lifetime (including his gall stones & a banana spider). Upon his death, he donated his building and all of its contents to the city of Wykoff.
Ed operated a Jack Sprat grocery store beginning in the ‘30’s, showed old movies and saved memorabilia, and collected interesting picture and notes of the happenings & growth of a small Midwestern town for over a period of nearly a century. The Wykoff Area Schools Museum is in the small annex attached to Ed’s, and contains articles and class pictures from country schools and the towns' former school district, up until it was merged with Spring Valley to form Kingsland Public Schools in 1992.
